as i walk into its web of thorns
and blood like baby spiders
dance upon my cheek
none the less
i take you home
keep you secret in my loft
working on your memory
smoothing down your form
polishing the knuckle
that would fit into my hand
the spiders web
revealed itself in grain
inadvertently
i check my cheek for blood
knowing that the spiders there
had grown
dropped from my face
and walked away
with all good thoughts
i ever had of you
